Hi guys! Can you believe its already August?! I swear this summer is flying by. End of summer and August means its back to school time. I may not be in school anymore but I went back to school shopping at The Shops at Montebello to compile my must haves and also spent the afternoon at their back to school family fun day!
A new backpack is always a must! Luckily, Journey’s had so many cute options. I think I picked out a new backpack for myself every year. Something about a fresh start with a new backpack for a new school year felt good. Out with the old and in with the new! Next stop was to find some new tees.
I found some great t-shirt options at Cotton On, H&M, and Old Navy. I think stocking up on t-shirts and basics is always a must for back to school shopping. They’re such versatile pieces that you can style different ways and wear for all kinds of weather. I also am really into graphic tees lately, if you can’t tell by the “basic co” tee and the rolling stones logo inspired tee above. Next up on my back to school tour was to find long sleeve options!
Between sweaters and blouses I was in heaven! I found some amazing long sleeve options at Old Navy, H&M, and Gap. Blouses in my opinion are always flattering so this black one and this maroon printed one were a must in my book. You can also never have enough sweaters in your closet. I loved the color of this one I found at H&M but also the sleeves on this one from Old Navy. Are you more of a solid only person or do you gravitate to prints and fun detailing? Next up on my list, jeans!
Both Gap and H&M had amazing options for jeans and at such great price points. If you look at the jeans I’m wearing with the red/orange sweater and the tee with the Rolling Stones logo above, they’re only $19.99. Can you believe it?! I was hesitant to try them on at first because I didn’t think the quality would be anything to write home about and boy was I wrong. They were extremely soft, had just enough stretch in them and I could totally see myself wearing them all day. The selection at Gap was also on point with a huge array of styles and washes. Last stop I made was for shoes and cute back to school items you can use in the classroom.
I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of cute notebooks at Cotton On. I never wanted the solid color five star journals when I was in school. I always gravitated to the fun ones. So I was in love with the ones I found at Cotton On. I also stopped at Footlocker because you can’t go back to school without a new pair of shoes. I’ve been on a sneaker kick lately and sneakers are the perfect shoe for school for many reasons. My go-to brand is usually adidas because they have so many options!
Thanks for checking out my back to school post with The Shops at Montebello! What’s your favorite thing about back to school shopping?
