Hi guys, happy Wednesday! I just had the oh em gee moment when I realized that Thanksgiving is next week. That means Black Friday and holiday shopping is right around the corner. Matt and I headed to The Shops at Montebello on Sunday to figure out what items we want to snag as a Black Friday preview and get some Holiday gift ideas.
While I know a lot of you will do your shopping online, here’s one of the reasons I love going to The Shops: They’re hosting a Black Friday giveaway. The first 200 shoppers will receive $5, $10, and $20 gift cards to use at various retailers around The Shops. And one lucky shopper will receive the grand prize gift card of a $500 to Macy’s!
Our first stop when we arrived at The Shops we headed to Pro Image. It’s a sports that sells NFL, NBA, and MLB jerseys, hats, tee’s, shorts, gift items and more. Matt’s brother is a BIG sports fan so getting him anything Ohio State (go Bucks!) is always a successful gift.
I loved that Pro Image had such a large selection of fun gift items that every sports fanatic in your life will love! Like hats, lanyards, jerseys, t-shirts, etc. I of course had to try on the Chicago Blackhawks and University of Arizona hats! A fun fact about me is I’m a die hard Blackhawks fan. My favorite sport is hockey.
All my friends and family know that I am a big shoe lover. I don’t think you can ever have enough shoes so I loved the selection at Call It Spring! Their price points were also amazing too so they won’t break the bank. Something I also like to add to my closet around Black Friday and the Holiday’s are a new bag. I bring my laptop to and from work every day so I use my tote bag a lot! I’m always on the look out for a new one since I use it so much.
After we left Call It Spring I looked around for a few items I typically like to buy on Black Friday that aren’t electronics. And that’s jewelry and luggage!
Luckily for me, The Shops has great store options for both jewelry and luggage! For jewelry you can look at Daniel’s, Don Roberto, Kay Jewlers, Kevin Jewelers, and Zales. Plus there is jewelry in the big department stores as well. For luggage I looked at Global Luggage & Sports and in Macy’s!
I’d say our trip to The Shops was successful! There’s a few other fun things I found out about while at The Shops that I wanted to point out to you guys as well:
The Shops already have their Christmas decor up! And Santa is making his arrival on November 17th at 4pm to kick off the holiday season! 100 children will be picked from those that have been nominated to personally receive a gift from Santa. If you’re local you should attend and watch the children receive gifts and enjoy some complimentary holiday treats and refreshments.
There is also going to be a Countdown to Christmas. These smaller events will take place on November 30th and December 7th in Center Court for shoppers to experience holiday cheer in Center Court with music and giveaways. There will also be fun Holiday pop-ups on 11/21, 11/28, and 12/5, in Center Court where The Shops will host an hour of entertainment such as character artists and DJs. And if you thought The Shops would forget about National Cookie day, you’re wrong! National Cookie day is on December 4th and The Shops will be giving out complimentary cookies (yum!).
Lastly, if you’re like me and struggle to wrap your presents in a pretty manner, The Shops will have a gift wrapping station that benefits the Whittier Boys and Girls Club, Montebello-Commerce YMCA, and the Simon Youth Foundation. Happy Shopping and I hope you enjoyed this Black Friday preview!
