Its finally Friday! Anybody else doing a happy dance? I sure am! I can’t believe its the first day of fall. Where did the summer go? Today’s post is all about being a rule breaker – a fashion rule breaker that is!
I know the rule is that you can’t wear white pants after Labor Day. Well I’m here to tell you to break that rule! I’m not sure who came up with that rule but I am not a fan. I mean what is the point of having a pair of pants in your closet that you can’t wear year round? You can totally wear white after labor day and rock it!
These distressed white jeans are my favorite for multiple reasons. First, they aren’t see through. I can’t even tell you how many white jeans I’ve tried where you can see right through them! Second, they are distressed in the right places. Just where your knees hit and not too crazy. And last but not least, they’re only $75! Talk about a major steal.
The only thing I caution about with white jeans after labor day is how you style them. You can make them look like you’re still dressing for spring and summer which looks out of place during the fall and winter seasons. I like to pair them with darker neutral colors. It also works best if you pair them with fall colors like browns, reds, wine colors, dark mustard etc. For this look I went with a more monotone vibe by pairing my white jeans with grey and black.
Lately, I find myself on a basics kick with my wardrobe. This tank top is no exception. I love that its a basic piece with a twist! The cutout detailing on the front and back gives it that extra spunk. It’s also loose and flowy which helps make it a versatile piece. You could dress this top up or down. I went with just in between dressed up and dressed down. Unfortunately, mine is old but I found a similar version for you here (on sale).
Despite the fact that it rained here in LA yesterday, the sun is still out and shining bright. To keep the fall vibes of this look, I opted for a pair of aviators that didn’t have a flash lens. If you wanted to wear a colored pair of sunglasses with this look I would suggest darker tones like my dark purple ones. But don’t opt for anything too bright like my pink ones. If you want to see how I’ve styled my purple flash lens aviators recently you can check out my easy athleisure look. If you want to see how I’ve styled my pink ones you can check out my floral romper with sneakers transitionary look.
Booties are a fall staple! To help transition since its still on the warmer side, I like to go with my open toed booties. Have you every wondered like what it feels like to walk on a cloud? I’m pretty sure walking in these shoes is what it feels like. They are so cushioned and soft I never want to take them off. I could walk around all day in them and have zero issues. The perforated detailing also makes them super breathable which I like in a shoe on those days when its sweater weather in the morning and summer weather by noon (I’m looking at you LA). My booties are also currently on sale for under $100 so snag them while you can! Comment and let me know your favorite way to break the rules and wear white after labor day!
